Professor Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 in Oslo, Norway for their work in fighting global poverty and providing loans and services to the poor. Grameen has expanded outside of Bangladesh, and has other organizations such as the Grameen Foundation.
