Since we're a brand new organization without very much funding, we desperately need your help to create and maintain the kinds of networking, organizing, and educational resources that we know can revolutionize activism around the globe. We've come this far with very little financial assistance, so we know how to make the most out of every dollar we get. Although we are registered as a not-for-profit corporation in the state of New York, we just recently began the process of obtaining federal, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) status through the US Internal Revenue Service. Thanks to the immeasurably kind and supportive people at The Peace Abbey (formerly in Sherborn, Massachusetts), Lokashakti was proud to still be able to accept tax-deductible donations for a number of years. Presently, however, The Peace Abbey is undergoing structural changes, and is no longer able to support us in this way. We wish them the best of luck as time goes on, and thank them for having been with us since our inception in 2009. As soon as we're once again able to accept tax-deductible donations, we promise to let you know.
